Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Saint Patrick’s Day is March 17th and is celebrated in many countries of the world.   It is said Saint Patrick was born in Roman Britain to a wealthy family but was kidnapped at the age of sixteen and taken captive by Irish raiders. He lived in Ireland as a slave until he escaped to back to Britain. Later he returned to Ireland as a missionary for thirty years. He used a three leaf shamrock to explain the Trinity to Irish pagans. He died March 17th in the year 461.
Today we celebrate Saint Patricks Day by wearing green, attending parades and parties and drinking Irish beer. Some people eat corned beef and cabbage as a tradition. Many cities have parades or fun events to honor this day.
