Grease Fire Tips for Homeowners It’s easier to be prepared in advance of a grease fire instead of trying to figure out what to do while you’re in a panic. I once had the bottom burner of my oven catch on fire. Thankfully I caught it just as it started. I turned off the oven, left the door closed, pulled the stove out of its place then unplugged it. Here’s a few plumbing tips for your home. First know your pluming.  I can remember working on an older house when a water pipe going to the washing machine broke. Guess what? It took us a while to shut off the water.
